At San Diego Dermatology and Laser Surgery, we have an extensive array of current laser technologies that address the needs of patients of all skin types and skin concerns. With such a large group of lasers it is possible to use the most current devices that best treat specific skin lesions.
Brown Spot and Tattoo Removal (lasers) — San Diego Dermatology and Laser Surgery has multiple laser devices available to reduce unwanted pigment in the skin. This pigment may be in the form of freckles, sun spots, brown "liver spots", birthmarks, melasma, or pigment left by trauma to the skin.
Blood Vessel Treatment (rosacea, broken blood vessels, capillaries) — There are also multiple laser devices available to treat unwanted vascular lesions in the skin. Lesions such as red capillaries, telangiectasias, cherry angiomas, port-wine stains, hemangiomas, rosacea, facial flushing, red birthmarks, hypertrophic scars and keloids, stretch marks, and redness due to sun damage may all be reduced or eradicated through laser surgery.
Laser Treatment of Acne
Laser treatment may be an adjunct or stand alone therapy for patients with mild, moderate, or severe acne. There are multiple different laser and light devices that reduce acne either by reducing oil gland production or through bacterial destruction. Lasers offer a novel way to address acne and are usually particularly good at reducing acne marks and scars.
Hair Removal (lasers) — Laser hair removal is one of the most long-lasting methods of hair reduction. This treatment is even more exciting now that we can offer relatively pain-free hair removal with the new Clarity™ laser.
Fractional skin resurfacing and skin tightening — Fractionated skin resurfacing has become quite popular over the last few years as a method for wrinkle reduction, eradication of brown spots and unwanted pigmentation and more even skin tone and texture without significant risks or downtime.
SmartXide DOT CO2 Laser — Dermal Optical Thermolysis is the latest innovation for micro-ablative skin rejuvenation! DOT Therapy is performed using the SmartXide DOT™ CO? laser system, featuring the unique Hi-Scan DOT Scanner with Infinite Delivery Options for ablative skin rejuvenation with rapid healing.
eMatrix — The eMatrix system is a unique sublative radiofrequency (RF) treatment that places heat energy deep within the skin and thereby spares significant interaction with the outer layers. The eMatrix system's applicator delivers bi-polar RF energy via a matrix of electrodes within the applicator tip.
Exilis Elite — The Exilis Elite is a novel monopolar radiofrequency (RF) device that is used for face and body contouring and skin tightening. The Exilis Elite is a non-surgical office-based procedure that reduces fat and tightens loose skin on the face and body.
Hand Rejuvenation — Hand rejuvenation may be accomplished by erasing brown spots, evening out unwanted pigmentation, and replacing lost volume. It is necessary to address the hands in any rejuvenating experience as our hands will often give away our true age.
Botox / Dysport / Xeomin — Botox is the gold standard of treatment for wrinkles around the eyes (crow's feet), wrinkles between the eyebrows (frown lines), and forehead lines. It is also produces amazing results for excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) in the underarms, face, scalp, palms, and soles.
Soft Tissue Fillers — A very modern approach to cosmetic rejuvenation includes the use of soft tissue fillers to emulate a more relaxed, youthful appearance to the skin. These products can be used to soften wrinkles around the mouth, lip lines, depressions, and depressed scars with minimal downtime or discomfort.
Sclerotherapy — The treatment of unwanted varicose and spider veins of the legs may be accomplished through a series of sclerotherapy sessions. These treatments are usually very minimally invasive with little discomfort and downtime.
PRP — PRP treatment (also sometimes referred to as a “vampire facial”) can be beneficial to people who have wrinkles, sun damage, or scars. By placing PRP back into the skin, cell proliferation is encouraged. This leads to an increase in elastin and collagen production. As a result, the skin will look tighter, fuller, and smoother. This treatment can be done on its own, or in conjunction with Rejuvapen.
Rejuvapen microneedling — Rejuvapen stimulates collagen production by stimulating the body’s wound healing response. In addition to smoothing, firming and overall improving skin tone, Rejuvapen may also help improve acne, scars, dark spots, wrinkles, and large pores. This treatment can be done on its own, or in conjunction with PRP(platelet-rich plasma).
Plasma Pen — The Plasma Pen treatment, also known as fibroblast therapy, is a non-invasive device used to promote collagen production, skin lifting, tightening, and improves fine lines. The Plasma Pen can treat areas that traditional laser resurfacing can’t easily address, like upper eyelids.
PRO-NOX — (a 50/50 mixture of nitrous oxide and oxygen) is available upon request to provide maximum comfort during procedures.
